Research applications

TUMOR HETEROGENEITY & CLONAL RESEARCH

Connect genetic differences to individual cells.

Cells within a sample are not identical. Targeted single-cell DNA and selected surface-protein signals provide complementary information about variant co-occurrence, clonal composition and phenotypic differences.

QUESTIONS TO EXPLORE

Ask what lies beyond detecting a variant.

01

Which variants co-occur?

Within the assay’s targeted regions, investigate whether variants occur in the same cell to inform genetic population assignment and clonal composition analysis.

02

What phenotypes do clones show?

Link genetic information with selected surface-protein signals to compare protein phenotypes across genetic populations. A single marker does not describe the complete cell state.

03

How does composition change?

Compare cellular and clonal composition across consistently designed time points or experimental conditions to generate hypotheses for longitudinal investigation.

MEASUREMENT & INTERPRETATION

Two research dimensions, linked within a cell.

The D100 DNA + protein workflow links targeted genetic information with selected surface-protein signals from the same cell.

Targeted DNA

Variant information at covered loci and differences in co-occurrence across cells.

Cell-level linkage

Cell barcodes connect readouts for joint analysis following quality assessment.

Selected surface proteins

Signals from the selected markers add phenotypic information to genetic populations.

STUDY DESIGN

Target selection and study groups.

  1. 01

    Define the comparison

Define the study population, sample groups, collection times and primary questions. Distinguish exploratory observations from prespecified analyses.

  2. 02

    Choose targets & markers

Select DNA targets and protein markers around the research aim, considering coverage, sample conditions and appropriate controls.

  3. 03

    Maintain comparability

Coordinate sample preparation and batches across groups or time points, documenting factors that could affect observed cellular composition.

  4. 04

    Assess quality & interpretation

Interpret results alongside usable cell counts, locus coverage and protein-signal quality. Missing signals, allelic dropout and multiplets require analytical consideration.

ANALYTICAL FOCUS

Clonal analysis and interpretation.

What can the analysis examine?

Examine cell-level variant co-occurrence, genetic population composition and selected protein signals within the agreed targets and markers. Compare groups or time points when the study design supports it.

Which conclusions need additional evidence?

Longitudinal sampling lets you rebuild clonal evolution; capturing more cells makes low-frequency populations easier to detect reliably.
